Hunting leases

Deer, duck and turkey ground around the Golden Triangle, leased straight from the landowner — acreage, stands, food plots and camp access.

The ground and the game

East Mississippi holds strong whitetail numbers, with hardwood bottoms along the Tombigbee and Noxubee drainages, planted pine and cutovers for bedding, and prairie edges that grow big-bodied deer. Flooded timber and prairie sloughs hold ducks in a wet winter, and turkey numbers are best where hardwood ridges meet open pasture.

How season leases are written

Most leases here run per acre for a full season, paid up front before opening day, with a written agreement naming every member, a liability release, and proof of hunting-lease insurance. Spell out guest rules, ATV use, stand placement, food plot planting, and whether the lease renews automatically for next season.

Licenses and regulations

Every hunter needs a current Mississippi hunting license and, where applicable, hunter education certification. Season dates, bag limits and weapon restrictions are set by MDWFP by zone, and baiting and supplemental feeding rules change — check the current regulations guide before the lease starts.
